It seems with Aida Besancon-Spencer doing the Pastoral Epistles, they are definitely gunning for an egalitarian view of church leadership (female elders, etc.) rather than a complementarian view.

I was not aware of his Galatians and John commentaries. I have read his Romans commentary, which is terribly short, but good (and I suspect the same for Galatians and John).

I don’t know much about Dumbrell. I just did a Google search for “New Covenant Commentary Series,” and this was one of the few hits that came up.

I’m familiar with Koorong. I bought WBC for Libronix from them a few years ago for dirt cheap. A friend of mine who lives in Australia tells me that they are one of the largest Christian bookstores there.

If you pick up any of his commentaries, I’d be interested to hear what you think.

Hi Phil,

I think that Galatians commentary is similar to Dumbrell’s Romans commentary. I also noticed at that link that he has written a commentary on John; however, the Galatians and John are not available on regular booksites (e.g., Amazon). What is this Koorong site and how did you come across these commentaries by Dumbrell. They look good.
