Smelling Flowers Like a Good Girl

When Elleana obeys, we try to reinforce that behavior by telling her that she’s a good girl. As a result, “good girl” has become one of her favorite ways to refer to herself. When she knows she’s doing something that we’ve told her to do in the past, she’ll announce to us that she’s being a good girl.

A recent cute example of this was when Elleana would smell Shanna’s Mother’s Day flowers. When we first showed them to her, she wanted to see them and touch them. We told her that she could just smell them. When she did, we commended her for being a good girl and obeying. Now, instead of smelling them, she just puts her nose down to them and says, “Good girl. Good girl.” It’s so cute.
