Be careful of marketplace sites like ThemeForest. While they have hundreds of great themes, they don’t monitor their providers’ code. I purchased a theme from them just last year that had a well known security vulnerability included in it. I was caught by surprise when my site was hacked. When I contacted them, upset that they had sold me an insecure theme, they responded saying that they were not responsible for the security of the themes that they sell. I found this abhorrent. Other services, like Elegant Themes and WooThemes are theme creators who sell only themes they create. This allows them to keep them all up to date with the most recent security updates.

I’m not saying don’t ever buy from marketplaces. Just be aware that, when you do, you may be getting more than you bargained for.

      Good caution, Jon.
