Free Books!

July 4, 2007 by Phil Gons

PastorResources has several opportunities for you to get free books.

From the PastorBookshelf Blog:

Here are three ways for you to get free books:

  1. PastorBookshelf Blog is giving away a free book every Friday—no strings attached. Find out more here.
  2. PastorBookshelf Reviews is giving away free books in exchange for your reviews. If you’ve written a review of a book, you can submit it to our site and we’ll send you a free book of your choice from our list. Find out more here.
  3. Help PastorForums get off the ground by posting ten thoughtful posts during the next two weeks (ends July 18) and receive a free book of your choice from our list as a thank you.

These are three great opportunities for pastors to build their libraries. Enjoy!

    Phil,
I checked out the pastor forums and I must say it is really slow. Every time I clicked on a forum it timed out and I had to hit it again. Something wrong with the server or just too many people trying to get that free book?

How does the Pastorbookshelf review work? I signed up, but do I have to submit a review first before receiving a book? How and when will I receive a book?

    Thanks
    Parkersmood

Thanks for the note, Tom. I’m not sure why it was slow for you. It’s been fine for me. Perhaps you hit it at a busy time. Not sure. Let me know if you have trouble again.

    Hi, Parkersmood,

We’ve tried to lay out all the details of the program here; but it doesn’t appear that we’ve made that point very clearly.

To get started, you will need to submit a review before receiving your first book. It can be a book review from years ago or a new book review that you write specifically for our site. As soon as your review is received and approved, we’ll get your first book out in the mail to you. You will keep a list of books you’d like in your profile page. We’ll grab the first available one and get it sent right out. You’ll then have 90 days to read and review that book. After you submit that review, your next book will be on its way to you—and so on and so forth.

Hope this helps. Feel free to email matt at jcacompany.com with any other questions you might have.

    Phil

I have posted the requisite link to Pastorsbookshelf.com on my blog site, and sent an email to friends to let them know there is something new there. Xanga has a “friends” category that automatically tells them it’s there, but I have not fully loaded that yet.

Thanks for the book offer, and the chance to contribute and participate in this way in the life of the greater body of Christ.

    Phil,

I’m an undergrad student at BJU, I just found your blog and am going back through it. Is the free book offer for reviews at Pastor Resources still available? Or has that been discontinued? I can’t seem to get it to work.

    Thanks,
