Great Deal on Acer 22″ Widescreen

May 16, 2007 by Phil Gons

Acer 22″ Widescreen MonitorSeveral months ago I bought an external keyboard for my laptop because I was getting really sore wrists and arms from being lazy and letting my arms rest on the laptop. The edges were pressing into my arms and making them sore and numb. The external keyboard along with a wrist rest fixed that problem but created another one. In order to use my keyboard, I had to push my laptop back an additional foot or so. As a result, I was consistently getting headaches from straining to read the screen.

Baxter’s Reformed Pastor Audiobook: Free

May 1, 2007 by Phil Gons

The Reformed PastorThis month’s free audiobook from ChristianAudio.com is Richard Baxter’s classic The Reformed Pastor.

In his introduction, “Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.” This charge from Acts 20:28 only is the beginning of a solemn and overarching task to be personally involved and disciple all of your congregants. Richard Baxter’s plea for shepherding his flock continues with a charge to pastors to verify their own spiritual walk and then walks them through various disciplines, strategies and goals to guide and instruct their congregation.

$1 Guitar CD!

January 5, 2007 by Phil Gons

WaitingIn preparation for the upcoming release of his second CD, fingerstyle guitarist Dave Wike, a coworker and friend of mine, is offering his first CD, “Waiting,” for a phenomenal price of just $1 (free shipping in the US). You can choose between the physical CD or downloading the MP3 files. Check out these four, two-minute samples to see if you like it. I enjoy listening to it as background music while I read or study. The play count in my iTunes is in triple digits! Read the reviews at CD Baby to see what others think. If you’re interested in purchasing a copy, email me at philgons-at-gmail.com. You can pay with PayPal or a personal check. Contact me for more details.

Update: I don’t have any more of these available. Visit DaveWike.com for details on how to contact Dave directly or order his CDs.

$20 off $50 Purchase and Free Shipping

December 5, 2006 by Phil Gons

I just bought three books from Buy.com for a little over $30. The same three books would have cost me closer to $60 at Amazon. If you use Google Checkout, you save $20 instantly. There is no limit to the number of orders that you can place. This really is a phenomenal savings (that’s 40% off for those of you who were reaching for your calculator). Plus you get free shipping on orders over $25. I highly recommend checking this out.

ATP 2GB ToughDrive 200X USB Flash Drive

November 17, 2006 by Phil Gons

The ATP 2GB ToughDrive 200X USB Flash Drive is one of the best USB flash drives available. (1) Along with the Patriot Xporter XT, it’s one of the fastest (30MBps read/20MBps write), making it a great choice for use with Windows Vista’s ReadyBoost technology. (See the results of a comparison of various USB drives here.) (2) It’s incredibly durable and built for rough handling (including a 5-year warranty). (3) It’s a great price—on sale for $59.16 at Buy.com, with free shipping. There’s a $25 mail-in rebate, and if you open up a Buy.com credit card (takes about 3 minutes), the price ends up being $16.41 (after mail-in rebate). Not bad for a high-speed 2GB USB drive! I was hoping to be able to save an additional $10 by using Google Checkout, but they don’t allow that in conjunction with the 30% off credit card deal. If you want to go the Google-Checkout route, you’re final cost ends up being $24.16—still a great price. So if you’re in the market for a good USB drive for yourself or as a Christmas present, you might want to check this one out.
