The Life of David Brainerd
October 2nd, 2007 by Phil Gons
This month’s free audiobook download from ChristianAudio.com is Jonathan Edwards’s The Life of David Brainerd. This is one you’ll definitely want to pick up. It’s a classic, and its reflective, devotional nature will make for great listening. Make sure to use the code OCT2007.
It’s read by Nick Cordileone, has a runtime of 9 hours and 55 minutes, and consists of nine MP3s totaling 273.3 MBs.

Thanks for the reminder, Phil!
Thanks!
I downloaded it a while back. I have listened to part of it, and it’s ok. I think I would rather prefer the effect of the codex (i.e., read an entry or two a day/week). Not to minimize the spirituality of this giant of the faith, but hearing a journal read is a little much. Per the introduction and Brainerd’s wishes, I don’t think he (or Edwards) would have liked this recorded version; esp. read by a guy whose last name sounds very similar to that of the Godfather= ).
That’s my not-so humble opinion.
Nice to hear from you, Will. I agree that reading books is usually preferable to listening to them, but listening to them is a little easier to do in a car while driving, for example. I’m about to drive 2900 miles, so you can bet I’ll have my MP3 player loaded with sermons, lectures, and perhaps even an audiobook or two.
